SVENGOOLIE AUDITION
I am beyond thrilled that my audition tape for "Spawn of Svengoolie" was aired on Svengoolie via MeTV national television last week! My parents and I are huge fans, so I'm nerding out a bit :) The audition tape features a "Sven-dition" of my song "Dracula," and was followed by the audition tape of original Lost in Space "Will Robinson" actor Bill Mumy!! Pretty darn neat..thanks Sven!

SONGWRITING
SONGWRITING MAGAZINE
I recently wrote a 'tips column' for Songwriting Magazine out of the UK, titled "The Power of a Silly Song" for the winter issue. I'm honored to be included in this publication. Along with my column, this issue includes an interview with Julian Lennon, and many other insightful pieces on songwriters and their craft. If you're interested in this subject, I highly recommend downloading the full issue HERE!

STELLA RAY
*Shane's Beach Boys inspired summer single, "Stella Ray" is on Spotify, Bandcamp, Apple Music, Amazon Music and more!
"With a naïve charm that can only be achieved by an accomplished arranger (think Brian Wilson), ‘Stella Ray’ is a chance for Shane Cooley to show off his breezy side. Injected with the sounds of 60s pop, it’s a serious summer jam." - Duncan Haskell, editor of Songwriting Magazine (U.K.)
"Shane Cooley pivots toward jovial summertime leanings and stares at the sun on "Stella Ray": a pure fun, off-kilter, folk-pop miniature. Like a kid with ABC building blocks, the Virginia/Austin-based artist toys and tinkers with a mixed bag of instruments from buoyant mandolin to pan-puttered percussion and seesaw synths. Cooley's smooth register - childlike and dreamy - strolls unrushed. Diverting from the melancholic and rural pastoral folk on Kings Highway (2015), the Beach Boys-inspired track aligns itself more with the experimental Americana backdrop on April's Forest". - Alejandra Ramirez, The Austin Chronicle

New podcast interview/live performance for Songwriters Across Texas.
Shane Cooley talks about a notorious Austin welcome, attending William and Mary, Paul McCartney and Rick Rubin, playing studio vs live, and plays some songs. Hosted by Karl Anderson.
